BOSTON— Representative Bradley H. Jones, Jr. is encouraging residents looking for affordable homeownership opportunities to participate in the “Opportunity Knocks” series. The program, which was recently announced by Governor Patrick, will be held on Saturday, April 10 in various communities across the Commonwealth.
The Opportunity Knocks homebuyer fairs are being sponsored by MassHousing and the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS®, in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development, Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation, Massachusetts Housing Partnership, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Massachusetts Bankers Association, Massachusetts Mortgage Bankers Association and the Massachusetts Credit Union League.
Prospective homebuyers will have the opportunity to learn more about the home buying process from MassHousing staff, realtors, mortgage lenders and homebuyer counseling agencies.
“This is a great opportunity for first time home buyers to familiarize themselves with the process while seeing what affordable properties are on the market,” said Representative Jones. “It is still very much a buyers’ market for any renters looking to buy, now is as good of time as any.”
The Opportunity Knocks homebuyer fairs will be held at various locations on April 10 and for residents of the 20th Middlesex District the closest location is at the Square One Mall, Saugus. This forum will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
