BOSTON—House Minority Leader Bradley H. Jones Jr., state Rep. Bradford R. Hill and state Sen. Bruce E. Tarr announced today that the Middleton Cultural Council will receive a $2,500 grant from the state.
The money, approved this month by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, will be used to bolster local arts, sciences and humanities programs.
“Strong cultural programs contribute to the vitality and vibrancy of our communities,” said Jones, R-North Reading. “I’m pleased that the Middleton Cultural Council will be receiving financial support from the state to continue providing these important programs and activities for Middleton residents.”
"It is so important that we be able to promote the arts to our children and residents," stated Hill, R-Ipswich. "These funds will enable the town of Middleton to do just that."
“One of the great strengths of our communities are locally produced programs in the arts. Investing state resources in these programs benefits our quality of life and incents economic growth,” commented Tarr.
Massachusetts Cultural Council programs support cultural organizations, schools, individual artists, and local cultural councils in every city and town in the state. This year, the MCC will distribute close to $8 million in direct grants.
